After a few weeks of teasing images and drip-feeding information, Husqvarna has revealed specifications and official images of its new-for-2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 801.
We already knew the powerplant is KTM’s 799cc LC8c, said to be good for 105hp (77.2kW) of power and 87Nm of torque, packaged in a chromium-molybdenum steel frame that uses the 52kg motor as a stressed member.
Suspension, unsurprisingly, is the same fully adjustable WP Apex fork and matching rear shock which adorn a raft of KTM and Husqvarna models, and which give the Svartpilen 140mm and 150mm of wheel travel respectively.
Braking is looked after by J.Juan calipers and is complemented by Bosch’s lean-angle sensitive ABS system, while the same Supermoto ABS mode found on the firm’s 701 Supermoto and Enduro models is standard, which deactivates rear ABS while leaving the front wheel unaltered.
Speaking of standard electronic rider aids, the Svartpilen 801 gets a two-way quickshifter, cornering traction control, three selectable ride modes (Street, Rain and Sport) and the throttle response can be adjusted within the settings. There’ll be an optional Dynamic pack, too, which adds adjustable engine braking, anti-wheelie intervention and cruise control.
It’s all accessed through a five-inch TFT dash with smartphone connectivity which, when paired with Husqvarna’s Ride app, allows for turn-by-turn navigation, communication and audio streaming.
The Pirelli MT60 RS tyres complete the urban scrambler look that’s in line with the other sized Svartpilen machines in Husqvarna’s stable. Surely it’s only a matter of time before the Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 is joined by a more road-oriented Vitpilen 801. We'll bring you more information on local pricing or availability as it comes to hand.
