Husqvarna has made a return to the supermoto sector with the FS 450.
The machine, based on the FC 450 motocrosser, has a lightweight chromium molybdenum frame, three-piece injection-moulded subframe and cast aluminium swingarm. The 450cc SOHC engine produces 60hp, and it has a five-speed gearbox and slipper clutch.
The FS 450 hangs off fully adjustable WP suspension: a 48mm closed cartridge fork and high-performance shock. There are Brembo radial brakes, Metzeler tyres and sharp bodywork.
The bike goes on sale in Europe from October 2014, with Australian availability yet to be confirmed. If it does go on sale locally, the main competition will come from the KTM 450 SMR, while overseas other key models include the Aprilia SXV 4.5 and TM SMX450Fi.
