Husky patriarch scores fuel injection

Comfort and practicality - but a thrill a minute

The 2009 model TE610 ie dual-purpose machine is now on sale in Australia, with Husqvarna heavily spruiking its 'roadbike' credentials to sit alongside its race-bred credentials

According to Husqvarna, the TE 610 i.e. has all the creature comforts, such as a lockable fuel cap and full digital instrumentation, that you would normally find only on a roadbike. It also has pillion accommodation.

The rear features a new Sachs shock, and at the front are Marzocchi 45mm inverted forks.

The engine, featuring a single balance shaft, is now fuel injected, with a 42mm throttle body taking care of business. Claimed power is now 52hp at 7000rpm.

The engine, via a "closed loop" lambda probe and three-way catalyser, meets Euro 3 emission requirements.

The Husqvarna TE 610 ie lines up alongside the TE250, TE310, TE450 and TE510 to complete the 2009 Husqvarna enduro range. All Husqvarna road-legal motorcycles have a factory-endorsed 24-month parts and labour warranty.

The Husqvarna TE 610 ie is priced at $12,395 (Plus ORC).
