ADB magazine's inaugural dirtbike of the year award has been claimed by Husaberg's new-generation FE570.
After a comprehensive two-day test, the six testers were unanimous in giving the gong to the Husaberg, which features a 70-degree cylinder angle.
"The Husaberg FE570 sets itself apart as a true big-bore enduro bike, its 565cc capacity meaning it's more than just a bored out 450, it's a true monster-sized thumper," said the editor of ADB, Sam Maclachlan. "The brilliance is, however, that 70-degree engine means it only feels like a big-bore once you crack the throttle -- and there's no mistaking it then."
The other finalists were the Yamaha WR250R, Honda CRF450R, KTM 690 Enduro, KTM 300EXC and Honda CRF230L.
"This award really belongs to the engineers at Husaberg, who have produced an amazing motorcycle that has set the benchmark in the enduro category of motorcycles," said Husaberg general manager. Jeff Leisk. "Husaberg has always been a cult brand of motorcycle with a following of hardcore riders, we're proud of that, but it's nice to get mainstream recognition as well. It's a true indication of how good this bike is seen in the eyes of riders."
