One of the world's best motorcycle stuntmen, Chris Pfeiffer, has released a new video that shows riders how to perform a stoppie, sometimes called an endo.
The nicely produced video shows the BMW Motorrad rider roosting the rear end of his bike with effortless ease, but drops a few hints to make the trick a bit easier for novices, such as lifting your back as you feel the rear end rise.
"The stoppie is pretty dangerous and not easy to learn," explains Pfeiffer, who says that beginners should approach the manoeuvre in first gear and at low speeds.
It's the kind of trick that can be very rewarding in the right situation, but can also lead to injury and potential damage to your motorcycle if you stuff it up.
Hence the extended disclaimer at the start of the video...
Another thing to be aware of is safety gear. It's always wise to don protective jacket and pants with body armour inserts, or a good set of racing leathers prior to practicing such a move, and as the four time stunt riding world champion explains, make sure you try the move on a grippy surface.
Performing this stunt on the street will probably get your bike impounded in Australia due to the tough hoon laws in this country, so it's recommended to practice on a race track or similar proving ground. And as the video says, don't try this at home...
Enough with the chit-chat, check out the video below.
