Horex has launched its fist bike under new owners 3C-Carbon Group.
The new, well very limited-edition, Horex VR6 Silver Edition was unveiled at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show and proved an instant hit.
The gleaming silver bike is powered by Horex's VR6 engine which is a compact liquid-cooled V6 displacing 1218cc and featuring triple-overhead cams, three valves per cylinder and bucket tappets. Drive is through a six-speed box and power is quoted at 170hp and 138Nm of torque.
Braking is taken care of by twin front discs of 320mm with high-performance Brembo four-pot calipers and 264mm rear disc. ABS is standard.
Although the Silver Edition is based on the VR6 which has been available since 2010, Horex says this bike has been changed significantly. It is characterised by an ultra-modern exhaust system and the modified manifold routing with significantly enlarged cross-section.
A redesigned rear end illustrates the classic sporting character of the bike. For better ergonomics, the seat got a new design and by removing the rear seat, the Horex VR6 can be driven as a pure one-up machine.
"When implementing the specification requirement will fall back on the recognised expertise of the parent company 3C-carbon," says CEO Karsten Jerschke. "When developing the Horex VR6 we combine high-tech components with traditional values."
Just 33 examples of the Horex VR6 Silver Edition will be built.
