Honda VFR nods to race greats

V-four celebrates 21 years on the road

Honda has released a new tri-colour paint scheme on its VFR800 sports-touring mainstay.

The company says it's, "An ode to the great grand prix racers of the late '80s and early '90s including Mick Doohan, Wayne Gardner and Eddie Lawson."

It's meant to be a replica of the NSR500 grand prix racer of the time and is priced at $16,290 plus ORC.

This year is the 21st anniversary of the VFR series being launched.

The original bike, a 750, was first released to the media at Oran Park with superbike great Andrew Johnson in attendance.
