Honda’s dual clutch transmission has found another outlet, this time in the form of its new scooter, the Integra.
The machine, Honda’s answer to the ‘performance’ of a motorcycle with the ease of use of a scooter, has a 670cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin 670cc, which is married to the second generation dual clutch transmission.
As a result the Integra – a moniker once synonymous with a Honda car – has three drive modes – a traditional ‘twist and go’ automatic or manual via buttons on the handlebar.
Honda claims 51hp and 60Nm from the engine, but its capacity is too high to fall under the LAMS umbrella in Australia.
The Integra has telescopic forks (41mm), 120mm suspension travel, 17-inch wheels, a diamond steel pipe frame, linked ABS brakes, 790mm seat height, and weights in at 238kg – with a motorcycle-like front-end bias. Honda reckons it will only consume about 4lt/100km.
Colour will be Ion Blue Metallic.
More information on the Integra’s arrival time in Australia will follow in early 2012.
