Honda is launching a global communication website – hondamotoglobal.com – to promote its new and upcoming 'large-sized' motorcycles, including the much-hyped CBR1000RR Fireblade.
The website will introduce each of six selected models from Honda's 2017 lineup in a short film drama format.
The website is already live with teaser material, and the full pages will be launched with new model-related content on October 4 (press day at the Intermot show in Cologne), followed by further propagation during EICMA in Milan (November 10-13, 2016) and IMS Long Beach (November 18-20, 2016).
Meanwhile, recent spy shots of the 2016 Honda CBR1000RR in Croatia don't paint the all-new picture just yet, but we do know that it will be an 'electronics revolution' – at least compared to the current model – with maybe some third-party suppliers thrown into the mix. That includes the Bosch 9ME Plus system, which delivers anti-lock braking with traction control, anti-wheelie and stability control, all governed by the six-axis inertial measurement unit already on bikes like the Yamaha YZF-R1.
The new bike will also shed up to 10kg – purging Honda's C-ABS system a big help.
Two road versions, including a keenly priced base unit, are expected to be unveiled at the 2016 Intermot show in Cologne, Germany, which begins with a press day on October 4. There's also tipped to be a customer-spec race version on the way as well.
The last major update for the CBR1000RR was way back in 2008 (review here).
