With a new look, new name and new addition to the team, Honda’s factory motocross outfit is ready to contest the 2011 season, beginning with the March opening round of the Australian Motocross Championship.
The team will now be known as Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing, while former Yamaha rider Cheyne Boyd has now made the switch across to form a potent two-rider Open class assault alongside incumbent Todd Waters. The pair will ride Honda’s CRF450R.
“I am excited to have signed with the Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing,” Boyd said. “They are organised and professional and are putting everything into giving me the best bike and preparation possible.
“I have only been back on the bike for eight weeks but I feel great and the Honda is awesome.
“I feel refreshed and recharged after spending five months off the bike recovering from injury so I really feel this is my best shot at the championship yet.”
Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing is now rounding off its preparation for the season opener at Broadford’s State Motorcycle Sports Complex on Sunday, March 13.
The Bikesales Network will be posting a full preview of the championship on Monday, March 7.
