Honda’s adventure scooter slated for production

X-ADV set to make its public debut at EICMA in Milan this November

One year after making its unexpected debut as a concept model at the 2015 EICMA motorcycle expo in Milan, Honda will premiere the production version of its adventure-styled scooter at the 2016 event.

Named the X-ADV, Honda’s dual-sport-tyre-shod scoot will be the latest in a growing range of bikes to be underpinned by the firm’s NC750 engine and chassis when it makes its official debut on Tuesday, November 8, 2016.

While details are yet to be officially confirmed, we know the scooter will be powered by the firm’s 745cc parallel-twin engine which has a power output of 54hp (40kW) and a torque capability of 68Nm.

Honda has confirmed the X-ADV scooter will also be the beneficiary of its dual-clutch, semi-automatic DCT gearbox, while a series of recently released teaser videos reveal high-spec componentry such as an upside-down front fork and radial-mounted brake calipers.

Somewhat surprising is the production version we can see in the video is almost unchanged from the concept which seemed rather far-fetched less than a year ago.

Bikesales understands Honda initially applied to trademark the shorter ADV moniker for the new model, though after being deemed too generic, added the X prefix to give the bike a more specific name.
