Honda recalls Pioneer side-by-sides

Corrosion can cause the throttle pedal to stick under certain conditions

A potentially sticky throttle pedal has forced Honda to recall all versions of its SXS1000 Pioneer side-by-side quad machine from model year 2016 up to and including MY19.

The official recall notice states that corrosion may build up in the throttle pedal pivot and cause friction. As a result, the throttle pedal may stick open, rather than shut down as foot pressure is lifted.

\The ACCC website explains the issue as: “a throttle pedal that does not return to the closed position could result in loss of vehicle control and present a danger to the operator and/or bystanders”.

Owners are asked to contact their local Honda dealer to arrange for their machines to be inspected and, if necessary, repaired. All work is free.
