Honda recalling 23 different models

Potential issue with a starter solenoid, and the engine may cut out during riding

Honda Australia has issued a product safety recall on 23 different models, including the VT400 dating back to 2009. See the attached image for the complete list of models.

The recall is because excessive sealant may have been applied to the starter solenoid during manufacture in Thailand, which may cut out the engine while riding — and, in a worst case scenario, a short circuit may occur that could result in a fire in the wiring harness.

Consumers should contact their nearest Honda motorcycle dealer and arrange to have their motorcycle inspected and, if necessary, repaired.
