Sales of new motorcycles, ATVs, SSVs and scooters may have fallen in something of a hole in 2017 – in fact the 104,111 new machines registered equated with a fall of 9.3 per cent over the previous year's figure – but Honda Australia is rather keen to point out that it's maintained its dominance regardless, and can put its name to a number of top-sellers across a variety of two-wheel categories.
Honda topped the leaderboard last year with overall sales of 24,166 units, which was some 2779 units clear of its archrival, Yamaha.

It had no fewer than four models in the top 10 last year, including the number-one machine, the CRF50F.
The CRF1000L Africa Twin was the best-selling adventure-touring model while the Grom 125 took number one in the naked category.

The CBR500R was the best-selling sports machine and the CRF230F was the best-selling trail bike, while the Pioneer 700 rounded out the accolades as the best-selling petrol-engined SSV.

Honda Australia says there's plenty more to come, with 2018 set to see the brand roll out much-anticipated models like the new Goldwing luxury tourer, the CB1000R streetfighter and the LAMS-friendly CB300R naked bike.
