Honda Hornet 900

Quick squirt - Honda's Hornet series launched well with the 600 a few years ago

An absolute honey of a bike that looked cheeky and performed well. If you didn't ride one, you really missed out on something special - easily the pick of the mid-weight naked class at the time.

The current 900 carries over the looks and the general intention. In this case it runs a variation of one of the many recent Fireblade powerplants (919cc in this case), which means it has serious poke. Handling and braking is adequate, while being nothing particularly special. Fuel injection is a nice bonus - particularly since Honda's in-house product has long been the benchmark.

It's very capable and no doubt reliable, with plenty of service back-up. Not the most exciting machine in the naked class, but a good one.
