Arriving in dealerships from October is the new Honda Dio NSC110 scooter, being touted as one of the most efficient and reliable models on the market.
Priced at $2490 not including on-road costs, the new Honda Dio NSC110 is powered by a 110cc four-stroke engine that is designed for efficiency. Weighing just 102kg, the lightweight scooter has a claimed average fuel consumption of just 2.0L/100km.
The new scooter uses Honda's programmed fuel injection system (PGM-FI) to deliver precisely measured amounts of fuel to the engine, and as a result is clean as well as efficient. The Dio meets Euro 3 emissions standards.
Built around a steel tube frame, the Honda Dio features larger than average wheel sizes to improve stability and two-tiered headlight system for improved night time riding. It also has a CBS or combined braking system, which means pulling one brake lever activates both front and rear brakes for boosted stopping power.
Making use of telescopic forks with hydraulic damping up front and an offset damper for the rear swing arm unit, the Honda Dio also has a large lockable storage cubby underneath the seat. Honda says there's enough room for a full-face helmet under there.
Available from October 2011, the new Honda Dio NSC110 comes in pearl black, pearl white, candy red and candy blue.
