Honda debuts the 'Japanese Bulldog'
The company promised a world premiere concept model at the Osaka Motorcycle Show, and it's delivered in the form of a chunky-looking utility pieceThe 2015 Osaka Motorcycle Show has begun with Honda parading its world premiere concept bike – the 'Bulldog'.
Tough name, but oddly Honda has developed the concept along the “Lovable Touring Partner" lines, designed to "go beyond the boundaries of conventional leisure motorcycles to actively enjoy outdoor life".
The Bulldog has a 399cc, liquid-cooled DOHC parallel twin with a six-speed gearbox, and it's styling has some hues from the chunky-looking 49cc Ruckus – which isn't sold in Australia -- including the dual headlights.
There are 15-inch wheels with lumpy scrambler tyres, and 730mm seat height. Honda says the styling is "robust, yet charming". What are your thoughts?
There's a utility feel with the front and rear racks, as well as the storage areas on the sides of the fuel tank.
After Osaka, the Bulldog, which Honda is calling a "playful, next-era concept model", will make its way to Tokyo for its motorcycle show form March 27-29.
