Honda's announced an introductory price of $8999 rideaway for the new hipster-leaning CMX.
Avaialable in late April 2017 in matte armoured silver metallic, victory red or graphite black, the LAMS-approved CMX is powered by the firm's existing 471cc parallel twin that has hitherto impressed in the existing CB500X, CB500F and CBR500R models.
Honda says the CMX, designed to appeal to younger riders, is a "progressive custom that fuses tradition with ground-breaking new ideas and perspectives while providing ample scope for owner customisation".
The CMX (which will also be available in a single-cylinder 286cc version elsewhere) tracks on fat 16-inch tyres.
The original, easy-to-ride and sedate CMX250 Rebel was sold in Australia from 1986 until 1989, and retailed for $3450.
