Honda’s new high-spec litre-class Hornet is expected to land in Australia before April with a competitive price tag.
The all-new 2025 Honda CB1000 Hornet SP will be priced from $17,799 before on-road costs, placing it on par with Kawasaki’s Z1000, but quite a bit cheaper than Yamaha’s MT-10 and BMW’s S 1000 R, which are both priced at over $25k.
While there is a standard CB1000 Hornet in overseas markets, Australia will only get the up-spec SP version, which comes with a fully adjustable 41mm Showa SFF-BP fork, an Ohlins TTX36 rear shock, Brembo Stylema front brake calipers, and a quickshifter.
The 1000cc four-cylinder engine is based on the powerplant used by the CBR1000RR superbike and offers up 115.6kW and 107Nm. It is fitted to a new steel twin-spar frame.
Honda has also added a full suite of electronics including customisable power and engine brake modes, as well as multi-level traction control and wheelie control. There is also a 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity.
The CB1000 Hornet SP follows on from the CB750 Hornet which was launched in 2023 to much acclaim. That bike revived the classic Hornet moniker.
