Former Australian enduro and off-road champion Chris Hollis has abandoned his European aspirations – at least in the short-term – to return home in 2011, where he will reunite with his former Yamaha team.
After injury sabotaged his maiden world enduro campaign in 2010, where he was a member of the Husqvarna factory team, Hollis will now start anew in Australia against riders like KTM juggernaut Toby Price and his new Yamaha team-mate Stefan Merriman.
Rising star Matthew Phillips will also join the Ballard’s Yamaha outfit in 2011.
The calendar for the 2011 Australian Off-Road Championship is yet to be announced, but the Australian Four-Day Enduro will be held in Mackay, Qld, from April 20-23.
