Holder second in under 21 world speedway

Clinches spot after epic run-off

Australian Chris Holder has finished runner-up in the World Under 21 Speedway Championship for the second year running, with the final held in the Czech Republic last Saturday (October 4).

Holder, the reigning Aussie open and under 21 champion, defeated Croatian Jurica Pavlic in a stirring run-off to secure second spot behind Russian Emil Saifutdinov, who retained his title in dominating fashion.

Another Australian, Troy Batchelor, was fourth overall.

Holder was attempting to become the third Aussie to win the world under 21 championship after Leigh Adams (1993) and Jason Crump (1995).
