Chris Holder will undergo surgery in Melbourne after suffering a broken wrist in practice for the third round of the 2015 Australian Speedway Championship at Undera on January 7.
It's the same wrist he broke in Denmark on June 20, 2014 – an injury which kept him out of the Danish and British SGPs. The injury is complicated by the fact Holder had the wrist plated. So the Sydneysider is wasting no time getting it fixed.
He tweeted: “On route to Melbourne for surgery tomorrow. Tough to accept these things, but that's the way it goes. Just get it sorted out and move on.”
After having his 2012 season ended by knee ligament damage, 2013 halted by his Coventry horror crash and 2014 interrupted by his wrist and neck injuries, Holder is dejected to be back on the sidelines and blamed track conditions in Undera.
Earlier he tweeted: “Looks like I've re-injured the wrist from last year. Will let ya's know more when I know more. Track was ****house! Cheers.”
At Undera, Victorian Sam Masters won the A final from Max Fricke, championship leader Jason Doyle and Dakota North.
