Buell has revealed plans for a new high-performance V-twin cruiser, which has been designed in collaboration with California bike builder, Roland Sands.
Buell has stated the bike is in development for a planned 2025 release, with a proof-of-concept unveiled at a private party at the Roland Sands Design (RSD) shop in Long Beach.
Dubbed the Super Cruiser, the new machine will adopt West Coast cruiser styling, while placing an emphasis on sports performance.

The bike will take advantage of Buell’s V-twin platform, as well as an innovative perimeter braking system and structural swingarm, in the hope of delivering exceptional handling in a non-sportsbike format.
According to a statement released by Buell, the cruiser will weigh just 204kg and will put out 175hp (128.7kW), while rolling on a Sands-built chassis and 17-inch wheels.

“I’ve been working on projects like this for 20-plus years, and this is the first time we’ve been able to build a performance cruiser without the typical V-twin performance compromises of weight and motor width and length,” said Sands.
“Ground clearance, bar position, comfortable seating, and foot positions are key to getting the cruiser look with sportsbike handling.”

The modern-day Buell already has two models in production – the Hammerhead 1190 sportsbike and the 1190 SX naked bike. There are also plans for a Baja Dune Racer dirt bike and a Supertouring adventure bike, with both of those currently scheduled for 2025.
Buell was resurrected by EBR Motorcycles in 2021 after an 11-year hiatus. The popular brand was born in 1983 by ex-Harley engineer Erik Buell. In later years, Harley-Davidson fully acquired the Buell brand before it was put on ice in 2009.
Buell Motorcycles currently does not have a presence in Australia.
