Hidden Valley to host ASBK-SX double

Australian superbike and supercross titles on the same bill in the top end, to be held from September 12-15 in what the promoter is hoping will become a marquee event

Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway will host rounds of the QBE Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) and Australian Supercross Championship (ASC) across a mega three-day racing festival from September 12-15.

The event will mark the first ever venture to the Northern Territory for the Australian Supercross Championship, and the anticipated season opener.

The ASBK round was originally pencilled in for April 18-21.

The same road-dirt formula was showcased at the 2012 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island, and ASBK-ASC promoter International Entertainment Group (IEG) is eager to make the Top End trip a marquee event on the Australian motorsport calendar.

“The Northern Territory loves its motorsport and has been so receptive to the Australian Superbike Championship,” said Yarrive Konsky, the director of IEG. “We are determined to take two-wheeled events to another level in the Top End and are excited to announce that both championships will be held on the same weekend – a first for our industry.”

Further event details, features and scheduling will be provided in the coming weeks.
