International modelling sensation, Helena Vestergaard, has joined Australian Grand Prix Corporation by winning the coveted role of Ambassador for the 2013 Tissot Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
Despite a background in theatre and her thriving modelling career, Vestergaard has always found time for her hobbies such as surfing and skateboarding, fuelling her passion for adrenaline-charged sports and making her the perfect fit for the world of MotoGP.
“I’m a tomboy at heart, when I was younger people often thought I was a boy. I love any sport that pushes me out of my comfort zone. I have huge respect for the riders and the extremes they go to while competing; the action is non-stop!” said Vestergaard.
"I’m really looking forward to getting my bike licence,” she added.
No stranger to being on the back of a bike, Vestergaard can’t wait to experience the thrill of MotoGP as a pillion passenger with five-time 500cc Motorcycle World Champion Mick Doohan’s Honda CBR1000RR Superbike.
Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, Andrew Westacott, said he was pleased to welcome Vestergaard to the team for the 2013 Tissot Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
"Helena is a fresh and exciting personality that embodies the thrilling new era of MotoGP. She will do a wonderful job representing Victoria and showcasing Phillip Island to a global audience," said Westacott.
