Now that the first phase of construction on the new Honda Australia Rider Training or HART centre in Melbourne's north has been completed, a celebration is in order.
Two-wheeled enthusiasts, those interested in getting their motorcycle license, riders looking to increase their skills with advanced training or even curious Kelly's can check out the new complex at 200 Sydney Road, Somerton, on Saturday, August 29.
The open day will run between 9:00am-4:00pm with formal proceedings taking place at midday.
Of special interest to mud-slingers will be a brand new off-road training course for kids and novices, not to mention a purpose-built ATV track.
“This is one of the most exciting developments since HART’s initial opening 20 years ago,” said HART National Manager Mark Collins. “We are particularly excited to be able to appeal to even more riders at the new site as we have access to excellent off road training areas as well."
The open day will be supported by the RoadSafe councils of North West, Westgate and North East and riders who decide to book a subsidised HART training course during the open day will get a free pair of summer riding gloves, worth $50.
Other things you can see and do (and eat) include free "Try It" sessions for all levels of bike riders, but HART reckons you should book ahead for these by calling (03) 92701377. Furthermore, there is a special deal that wipes $50 off any course booked and paid for on the day and free demo rides of the Honda road fleet.
You can't have an open day with a sausage sizzle, which is scheduled for lunchtime and HART will also offer riding simulator sessions and other demonstrations.
