Harley-Davidson has unveiled a stunning new paint scheme for its popular Touring model, the Street Glide Special. But stocks are bound to sell out rapidly, with just eight examples of a world-wide limited-edition run of 500 heading to Australia and New Zealand.

First unveiled at the 81st Sturgis Motorcycle Rally (August 6 to 15), the 2021 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special with exclusive Arctic Blast paint is the work of Gunslinger Custom Paint in Golden, Colorado.

Harley-Davidson's relationship with the firm, which brings an internationally renowned collection of painters, designers and artists together under the one roof, goes back decades; Gunslinger already has countless CVO (Custom Vehicle Operations) components and limited-edition paint sets to its name.

The limited-run model also boasts a serialised number on its fuel tank, but otherwise remains in stock trim, with power down to a 114-cubic-inch Milwaukee-Eight V-twin.
Other notable features include the distinctive batwing fairing, stretched and lockable hard saddlebags, a Daymaker LED headlight, low-profile engine guards, Boom! Box GTS infotainment system with touchscreen and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and integrated sat-nav.

“With the Arctic Blast Limited Edition paint offering for the Street Glide Special, at Harley-Davidson we continue to build on our reputation and lead by example, as the best in exclusive custom motorcycles and design,” said Jochen Zeitz, President and CEO, Harley-Davidson.

Brad Richards, Harley-Davidson Vice President of Styling and Design, said the model’s exclusive paint has to been seen in person to be fully appreciated.
“The Arctic Blast paint is executed in strokes of high-contrast colour intended to communicate the appearance of motion,” he said.
“The design looks bold from a distance but offers interesting details that can only be seen up close, including a blue pearl effect over the white base, and a ghosted hexagon pattern on the fairing.”
The limited-edition 2021 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special in Arctic Blast is available now for $47,245 ride away. The model commands a $7495 premium over the base model Street Glide Special in its standard Vivid Black scheme.
