A 750cc version of Harley-Davidson's Street family will be heading Down Under after all – but not the original. Instead it's the new souped-up Street Rod, which will go on sale in May 2017 for $12,995 rideaway.
Powered by the new High Output Revolution X 750cc engine, the model is matched to a revised chassis including uprated suspension – 43mm upside-down forks and piggyback shocks. There are also twin discs up front and a "scooped racing seat".

Compared to the original Street 750 engine, the high output version has hotter cams, gas-flowed heads, more compression and a higher redline. Torque is 61Nm, up from 58 on the Street 750.

There are 17-inch open-spoke cast-aluminium wheels, and the Street Bob sits 765mm higher than the learner-legal Street 500. There's more ground clearance as well. Dry weight is 229kg.
Featuring dark custom styling, the bike is designed to “look tough and aggressive,” said Chetan Shedjale, Harley-Davidson lead designer.
“We’ve improved air flow and then tuned this new engine to maximize mid-range torque,” said Weber. “It really delivers a punch between 3000 and 5000 rpm, power you can always feel and use in real-world riding situations. Liquid cooling helps maintain that performance and rider comfort in stop-and-go urban traffic.”

The Street Rod will be available in three colour options: Vivid Black, Charcoal Denim and Olive Gold.
