It's been an oft-mentioned question: when are we going to see the Harley-Davidson Trike launched through official company channels in Australia, just like New Zealand?
The answer is now here in the form of two Trikes set to join the company's Touring line-up in October 2017: The Freewheeler and Tri Glide Ultra, both powered by the all-new Twin-Cooled Milwaukee-Eight 107 engine.

While The Freewheeler is "a stripped-down, hot rod style on an easy-handling frame", the
Tri-Glide Ultra is based on the Ultra Limited.

“The Trike is a popular choice for riders who enjoy long haul freedom with comfort in mind,” said Adam Wright, Marketing Director, Harley-Davidson Australia.
The 564kg Tri Glide Ultra tracks on 15-inch (front) and 16-inch tyres, wrapped around seven-spoke wheels, and it has six-piston front brakes to bring all that mass to a standstill.

The Freewheeler, as you'd expect with its leaner stripped-down values, is nearly 60kg lighter than the 'burger with the lot' Tri Glide Ultra and doesn't provide the luggage and pillion-friendly capabilities of its sibling. The two Trikes track on the same chassis, though.
The Freewheeler will be available in Australia for $40,250 rideaway and the Tri Glide Ultra for $50,995 rideaway.
Colours are still to be announced.
