Harley-Davidson is gearing up for the Australian leg of its 120th Anniversary celebrations, with the 2023 National H.O.G. Rally set to take place this weekend at The Bend.
Combining the Motor Company’s birthday with the 40th anniversary of the Harley Owners Group in Australia, the event is promising to be an unmissable experience for all H.O.G. members and Harley enthusiasts.
The high-octane event is scheduled for September 22-24 at The Bend Motorsport Park in Tailem Bend, South Australia, and will feature live performances from iconic Aussie acts like The Angels, Richard Clapton, and the Screaming Eagles.
Another highlight will be the Thunder Run, which will involve thousands of Harley-Davidson motorcycles taking to the spectacular Bend circuit for a lap. There is also a Show and Shine, the infamous Chapter Games (a series of Olympic-style contests), and guided rides through the picturesque South Australian countryside.
Prospective Harley buyers can also test the latest and greatest models, with the H.O.G. Rally coinciding with the latest stop on the Australia-wide Demo Tour.
The Bend Motorsport Park is a world-class bitumen circuit that opened in March 2016. It regulary hosts rounds of Supercars, Australian Superbikes, and Australian GT Championships, among other events. It features a sprawling pit building which also houses a 100-room hotel.
“The Bend is the perfect location to mark 120 years of Harley-Davidson and 40 years of H.O.G. in Australia,” said Harley ANZ Managing Director, Nigel Keough. “As far as motorsport venues in Australia go, I don’t know if there is one better. From the track, to the hotel, pit garages, and general infrastructure – it’s so accommodating and I think our members will enjoy it.”
Australia’s Harley celebrations follow similar celebrations around the world, including the Harley Homecoming festival that took place in Milwaukee in July. That event attracted thousands to the brand’s hometown and featured performances from Foo Fighters and Green Day.
Pre-registration for the National H.O.G. Rally is now closed, but there will be day tickets available to purchase from the gate for $49 per day. There is also the opportunity to book a spot on one of the many shuttle buses traveling between the venue and surrounding towns, including Adelaide. But get in quick!
