An electric bicycle brand started by Harley-Davidson is headed for Australia, with Sydney surf shop Ben Buckler Boards opening up pre-orders on its website.
Serial 1 started life in 2020 as a Harley-Davidson spinoff brand but was sold to LEV Manufacturing in 2023. Serial 1 is named after the first-ever Harley-Davidson model, which is referred to as Serial Number One.
Despite the change in ownership, the Serial 1 models still appear to carry the Harley-Davidson logo, while the official website says the bikes are "Powered by Harley-Davidson".

Until now, the e-bike brand hasn't appeared in Australia. The Serial 1 website currently does not list any Australian retailers, but Ben Buckler Boards has advertised that the bikes will be available in its stores from July 14.
Ben Buckler Boards lists the range-topping Serial 1 RUSH/CTY (Gen 2) model at $5,980, and it comes with a 706WH removeable lithium-ion battery that offers a range of 40-185km depending on terrain. The mid-mounted motor delivers 90Nm of torque and comes with four power modes.

Other models include a step-through frame version and also two mountain bike models. The cheapest model comes in at $5099.
Many motorcycle manufacturers have taken advantage of the e-bicycle boom, with Yamaha, GASGAS, Ducati, and MV Agusta just some of the companies offering e-bikes.
