Harley announces 2023 Dealer of the Year awards

Queensland the stand-out state in Harley-Davidson’s annual dealer awards

Queensland’s Mackay Harley-Davidson has been named as the Harley-Davidson Dealer of the Year for 2023, from an estimated 50 H-D dealerships across Australia and New Zealand.

All smiles at Mackay Harley-Davidson after clinching a swag of titles in Harley-Davidson's Dealer of the Year awards

Scored across a variety a criteria, the annual award is handed down across three categories – Small/Compact Dealer of the Year, Medium Dealer of the Year, and Large Dealer of the Year – after taking into account metrics including customer satisfaction and commitment to training, as well as each store's performance across sales, service, parts, and accessories.

Mackay Harley-Davidson took out the Small/Compact honours, alongside Sunshine Coast Harley-Davidson which claimed the Medium Dealer of the Year award, while Brisbane’s Morgan & Wacker Harley-Davidson received the Large Dealer of the Year gong.

The top prize is then decided by which of the three dealerships gained the highest combined score in business performance and dealer standards.

The wider Mackay H-D team were thrilled with the accolade

“We are honoured to receive this award and want to thank Harley-Davidson for recognising our team effort – 2023 was an exceptional year for us,” Mackay H-D’s Scott Gralow said.

“This award is a testament to the advocacy and loyalty of our customers and the local HOG chapter.”

Five second-tier accolades were also announced, with Mackay Harley-Davidson, Harbour City Harley-Davidson (Gladstone, Queensland), Road & Sport Motorcycles (Hamilton, New Zealand), Empire Harley-Davidson (Kangaroo Flat, Victoria) and Bundaberg Harley-Davidson (Queensland) all awarded 5-Star Dealer status.

Harley-Davidson Australia also used the announcement to recognise the milestones reached by seven dealerships. Both Sunshine Coast Harley-Davidson (Queensland) and Hidden Valley Harley-Davidson (Berrimah, NT) celebrated their 20-year anniversary last year, while Gold Coast Harley-Davidson (Queensland) and Thomas Lee Harley-Davidson (Moree, NSW) celebrated 30 years. Three Victorian-based Harley Heaven stores (Melbourne, Dandenong and Ringwood), meanwhile, have reached 40 years in business.

Harley-Davidson’s ANZ Managing Director Nigel Keough said the awards are a reflection on the staff providing high-quality customer service.

“We are incredibly proud of our ANZ dealer network because all our dealers are characterised by a high degree of authenticity, friendliness and competence,” he said.
