Lewis Hamilton fanboys could find themselves aboard a bike the five-time F1 world champion helped create.
Just 144 of the MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR LH44 bikes will be built and all come with Hamilton's race number and initials embossed on the machine. It is the third time Hamilton has collaborated with MV Agusta on a limited edition machine bearing his signature, with the previous versions based on the Dragster and F4.
High-end gear helps justify the $38,880 rideaway price for the Brutale and includes a blacked-out ceramic exhaust, unique rim design, red lever sets and carbon fibre trim on the fuel tank side covers, front and rear guards and dashboard cover.
MV Agusta says the colour scheme draws inspiration from the F4 LH44 and replicates its carbon metallic black, pearl shock red and white livery.
The triple-cylinder engine has been tuned for 140hp (103kW) at 12,300rpm and 87Nm at 10,100rpm. With a mass of just 172kg, that’s enough to propel the Brutale to a 244km/h top speed.
Keeping the front end under control is a set of 43mm Marzocchi upside down forks, with a Sachs monoshock at the rear. Pirelli has been tapped to deal with the contact point and the Brutale is shod with 17-inch Diablo Supercorsa rubber measuring 120/70 up front and 200/55 on the back end.
