Guzzi rally bike nears launch

Stelvio promises lively performance

Moto Guzzi's rally bike, the Stelvio, is nearing launch, with the factory revealing more pics of the production bike and a little more detail.

The heart of the machine is the four-valve OHC 1151cc 90-degree twin, mated to a six-speed transmission and shaft rear drive.

It's claiming 105 horses at 7500rpm in this form and 10.8kg-m of torque at 6400rpm, which should make it lively though not the most powerful in its class.

Brakes are four-piston radial mounts up front, while the rims are 17-inchers with Pirelli Scorpions as standard.

Suspension is 50mm Marzocchi up front and a Boge unit on the rear.

We're told there is lots of adjustability built in, including levers, handlebar, windscreen and seat height.

Look for a launch date later this year.
