Great roads Down Under
A new locally developed website lists all the best rides across Australia, and it's available as an iPhone app tooYou've somehow snaffled a day off mid-week, the rain clouds have finally parted and you've got one thing on your mind - an epic motorcycle ride. But where to go?
Granted, there something to be said of heading out in one direction and getting somewhat lost, but if you're keen to find some decent rides in your neck of the woods, a very handy tool is MotorcycleRides.com.au. It is also available as an iPhone app and costs $2.49 to download.
We found it to be a very good resource, basically listing hundreds of different rides, all with Google Maps directions (and some with videos), so you can plan your fuel and food stops in advance.
There are numerous rides listed for all Australian states and territories, complete with descriptions of the rides and environments, the distance covered and time needed to undertake the journeys. There's everything from short 30 minute gauntlet runs through tight and twisty mountain passes ideal for sports bikes, to extended cruises across long distances more suited to cruisers.

- What else to look out for
