Grabbo back on the bike

Just three months after a horror crash in the Condo 750 left him with spinal injuries, Ben 'Grabbo' Grabham is on the mend and back on his bike

KTM off-road racer Ben 'Grabbo' Grabham has made what can only be described as a miraculous recovery since a high-speed spill in the Condo 750 in early April left him with spinal injuries, with the desert and enduro ace recently making a return to riding.

Grabbo struck a Kangaroo at around 150km/h in the Condo 750, his injuries seeing him undergo spinal surgery at Brisbane Private Hospital some three months ago. His recovery since then has amazed family and friends, and his medical team, which finally gave him the go ahead to resume some gentle riding last weekend.
"I've hardly slept the last two nights knowing I can ride again," said Grabbo, as he wheeled out his KTM 500 EXC for a tentative first run. "This is way ahead of schedule compared to what I really thought, but I've done everything possible to get to this stage. I'm just rapt to be back on the bike," he added.
