The German-made range of GOVECS electric scooters is now on sale in Australia, with consumers able to choose from three layers of specification, depending on application and intended use.
All five models in the line-up share the same rolling chassis, including belt final drive and 13-inch wheels, with the GO! T1.2 ($3613) and award-winning GO! T2.4 ($5767) based on 50cc petrol-powered scooters which are speed-limited to 50km/h – which means they can be ridden on car licences in Western Australia and Queensland.
There are ‘full biscuit’ versions of those two scooters – complete with T1.2 (+) and T2.4 (+) monikers -- which have a maximum speed of 62km/h. The pair retails for $3739 and $5856 respectively.
The main difference between the 1.2 and 2.4 is the type of battery used, with the former powered by a silicon unit and the 2.4 by a more advanced lithium design.
The silicon battery has a range of 50-60km and lasts about 20,000km, figures which the lithium rolls with ease: 60-100km and 50,000km respectively.
The final model is the 125cc-like GO! T3.4 ($6520), which has a maximum speed of 80km/h and a range between 50-70km.
The 3.4 weighs 125kg, five more than the 2.4 but 20 less than the 1.2.
The 2.4 was recently awarded the "European e-Scooter of the Year", with criteria including fuel consumption (together with emissions and noise output), range, recharge time, recommended retail price, driving performance, design/style, handling/comfort, availability and quality.
All five GOVECS have a seat height of 790mm and up to 170 litres of loading capacity, thanks to a huge cargo box.
Warranty is 24 months, and extendable to 48 months for the battery on the 2.4 and 3.4.
The GOVECS are imported into Australia by the Western Australia-based Westmount Holdings. For more information visit www.govecs.com.au or call (08) 9322 3499.
