Glenn Scott wins Ultimate Rider

And the 21-year-old from Mangrove Mountain has done okay for himself, including a cash prize of $20,000 to kickstart 2013, as well as a test with Team Honda

The winner of the 2012 “InsureMyRide The Ultimate Rider” in Glenn Scott.

The 21-year-old defeated 26-year-old Alex Cudlin and 39-year-old Sam in the grand final, which saw the riders battle it out around the Broadford circuit to see who could set the fastest time on Josh Hook’s 2012 Team Honda CBR600RR race machine.

Scott lapped just 0.3 seconds faster than Cudlin, which was enough to give him the $20,000 cash prize for first place, and also a test session with Team Honda.

“I'm over the moon, I'm so happy and I really needed this you know, not only for me, for my family for my career, moving forward in my career,” said Scott.

“It kickstarts my 2013 season, that's what it does, you know. Fighting for sponsorship here in Australia is the most difficult thing. My family, year after year, are just pouring a lot of money to help me keep racing and keep moving forward.

“Superbike (competition) is where I want to go, and to get a test with this team is such a huge step forward.”
