Girls day out

Honda to host women's ride day

The Honda Riders Club of Australia (HRCA) is holding a track day on Sunday, 1 July, at Broadford Raceway that will include female-only sessions with women marshals.

The company says all road-registered bikes and non-members are also welcome, and track experience is not required. Mixed group sessions will also be held for those who are comfortable riding with the men.

All attendees are also welcome to book a test ride on one of the fleet bikes which will include the 2007 CBR1000RR and CBR600RR, as well as a number of other current models.

According to HRCA's Rikki Dryden, the club wanted to provide a special event for the growing number of women riders.

"Track days are fantastic for improving your riding skills, but they can also be intimidating for people who haven't done them before.

"This includes a lot of girls who think they have to ride really fast to attend.

"That's not the case at all, and this day is being designed specifically to cater to the girls as well as for men and women who want to do a ride day together.

"We will have experienced female marshals along to help with setting the pace, and to offer advice and support throughout the event."
