The KTM rider extended his lead in the 2015 MX Nationals with a strong performance in round four at Murray Bridge

KTM's Kirk Gibbs claimed overall honours in the MX1 class at round four of the 2015 Monster Energy MX Nationals in Murray Bridge (SA) on May 17.

In his home round, Gibbs went 1-2 across the two motos, his 67pt hail enough to get the job done from Kawasaki's Adam Monea (63) and Yamaha trio Daniel Reardon (60), Kade Mosig (57) and Lawson Bopping (51).

“I got two really good starts today which I’m really happy about, and I felt very comfortable out there all day," Gibbs said.
“Adam (Monea) was riding very well in that second race and I made a couple of small mistakes, but all in all I can’t ask for much better today.

“Big picture, I’m really happy with how everything went today, and it’s awesome to be able to get the overall win in front of a home crowd again.”

Gibbs now leads the MX12 title by 39pts (274 to 235) over KTM's Luke Styke, followed by Monea (227), Mosig (227) and Bopping (213).

In MX2, Caleb Ward (KTM) scored maximum points from Luke Arbon (Husqvarna) and Takeshi Katsuya (Kawasaki). Luke Clout (Yamaha) still leads the championship.

Round five will be held in Coolum (Qld) on May 31.
