All models, including the new Dyna Switchback and Road Glide Custom, have been wheeled onto dealer floors, with pricing starting from $14,250 for the XL883s

Harley-Davidson Australia has rolled out its entire 2012 line-up, with all the American-made models available from October 1. This follows the launch of the 2012 Sportster range in August.

The Bikesales Network has already put the new Dyna Switchback custom tourer through its paces on the Sunshine Coast, complete with detachable bags and windshield, five-spoke cast-aluminium wheels and a mini-ape handlebar.

That will retail for $25,995, and other highlights of the 2012 range include:

  • The new Road Glide Custom range;

  • The Custom Vehicle Operations range, powered by the largest-displacement engine offered in the Harley-Davidson range – the air-cooled Twin Cam 110. Models include the CVO Ultra Classic Electra Glide, CVO Street Glide and the CVO Softail Convertible;

  • A security package which includes a hands-free fob, will be available on the V-Rod, Dyna, Softail, Touring and CVO models. The security package is standard equipment on CVO models and on the Road Glide Ultra, the Electra Glide Ultra Limited and the Road King Classic, and is a factory-installed option for all other models;

  • The Night Rod Special is updated with new tapered tail section, lighter wheels, an upside-down fork and improved ergonomics;

  • Harley-Davidson celebrates a decade of power cruising with the V-Rod 10th Anniversary Edition motorcycle, finished in Brilliant Silver Pearl bodywork that evokes the anodised aluminium bodywork of the original V-Rod. All V-Rods will carry 10th anniversary badges;

  • All the Softail models will get the performance boost of the Twin Cam 103 engine. The Fat Boy and Fat Boy Lo have repositioned bars which are closer to the rider, while the Softail Deluxe and Heritage Softail Classic will be available with a new optional “tubeless” chrome lace aluminium heel option; and

  • On the Touring models, the Twin Cam 103 has an oil cooler. All Touring models except the Ultra Limited will offer the chrome lace wheel option.

Rideaway pricing starts at $14,250 for the XL883s – the Iron 883 and Super Low – with the CVO models at the other end of the scale – but no surprise on that score.

The priciest is the CVO Ultra Classic Electra Glide, which will sell for $49,995.

All 2012 Harley-Davidson models include a security system, 24 months Harley Assist, and 12 months International HOG membership.
