Urban Moto Imports, Australian importer and distributor of motorcycle brands such as Benelli, Confederate, Royal Enfield, MV Agusta and Bimota, has announced it has added the Gas Gas enduro range under its umbrella, with the new 2018 range to reach our shores shortly.
Joseph Elasmar, CEO of Urban Moto Imports, said the Spanish brand was a great fit for the company's existing Australian operations.
"Gas Gas is without question a brand held in high esteem amongst the off-road community for its high build quality, performance and racing pedigree," he said.
"The new MY2018 range is ultimately a brand new platform that will be very competitive. However, the MY2018 range is just the start of the new breed to come from Gas Gas, with much-anticipated developments still to be announced."
Gas Gas was acquired by the Spanish-owned Torrot Group at the end of 2015 after the company struck financial difficulties. It has since been fully restructured and is facing a far brighter future, with its new enduro range spearheading a raft of updates.
The new enduro models, suitably dubbed the 2018 Phoenix range, sport a brand new design and feature components from the likes of Kayaba and FMF.
Urban Moto says the EC 250, EC 300, XC 250 and XC 300 will enter the market with new frames, engine, suspension, geometry and more, with each of the bikes being handcrafted at the Gas Gas production facility in Salt, Spain.
Urban Moto Imports takes over from GBT Imports as the distributor of the Gas Gas enduro range, while Gas Gas trials-bike models will continue to be distributed by Sydney-based operation, The Hell Team.
