Spanish manufacturer Gas Gas has launched a new 250cc four-stroke for 2010, and it will powered by the reliable electric-start Yamaha WR250F engine.
The EC250F will join the EC450 and EC515 in the Gas Gas four-stroke range, and the three two-strokes remain: the EC200, EC250 and EC300.
The entire EC range has been completely overhauled for 2010, featuring:
There is also a desert version of the EC450 with a 17lt fuel tank, 48mm Sachs forks, twin headlights, and weighing in at 133kg.
Gas Gas will also reintroduce the Pampera trailbike in 2010 – but not as the well-priced Suzuki DR-Z400-whipping 443cc four-stroke we once knew.
Instead, it’s now got a 125cc four-stroke mill, produced by another Spanish company Rieju, which Gas Gas has simply rebadged in a commercial tie-up.
Conversely, Reiju also has a 250cc four-stroke, the ‘Marathon’ which is fact a Yamaha-engined 2009 model Gas Gas.
So I don’t tie you in knots, it’s this simple: Rieju produces the ‘Pampera’ for Gas Gas, and Gas Gas produces the ‘Marathon’ for Rieju.
Pricing and availability for the 2010 models in Australia is still to be announced.
Meanwhile, Gas Gas’ range of 2010 moto trials bikes have also been tweaked, with a new two-piece cylinder head and piston for the 250, 280 and 300cc bikes, while the smaller 125 has a new crankshaft and carburetor.
The range all has new styling, a titanium pipe, a stronger radiator and a black swingarm, while anodisation is the flavour of the month across the board.
