Fuji to produce motorcycle

Subaru owner gets into 2 wheels

UK Motorcycle News reports that Fuji Heavy Industries, the parent company of car-maker Subaru, is to produce a 500cc single-cylinder road bike made in China.

Called the HS500sa, the machine appears to be running a massive twin-spar cast alloy frame and similarly hefty monoshock swingarm.

Front brakes appear to be by Tokico.

The powerplant claims 50 horses at 8000rpm and was originally developed for ATVs – we’re told Polaris uses it.

It’s expected to launch in Europe in 2008 at a price pitched to undercut much of the current market.
