It's already been rolled out in many other markets, such as America and the UK. Now, could we finally be seeing fuel injected Hyosungs in Australia?
Although BikePoint received a firm "no comment" from the Australian importer (Peter Stevens Importers) when we posed the question, our sources suggest it's a fait accompli, and some models are already being crated to make the journey from Korea to Australia.
However, it's unclear if the entire Hyosung EFI range will be released in one fell swoop, or drip fed onto the market as old carburetted stocks are cleared.
If the UK market is any guide, expect to see all seven Hyosung motorcycles go the way of EFI, including the GT250R, which was once the highest selling 250cc motorcycle in Australia until the arrival of Kawasaki's all-conquering Ninja 250.
With the Ninja 250 still fed by twin 30mm carburettors, EFI will now provide the GT250R with a putative edge over its opposition.
The Hyosung motorcycle line-up is completed by the GT250, GV250, GV650, GT650, GT650R and the Australian-only GT650S Tourer.
Although the machines will have uprated engines, it's unclear whether we'll see any styling tweaks in the first wave of EFI tackle.
Meanwhile, there is still no word on the oft-mentioned Hyosung 450cc dirtbike, which would presumably utilise the 450cc liquid-cooled engine found in the marque's TE450 ATV.
