Former CAMS manager to oversee 2009 Aussie Superbikes

New team taking shape

The former manager of motor racing for CAMS, Jose van den Dungen, has been appointed event director to manage all operational and logistical aspects of the 2009 Australian Superbike Championship (ASC).

Van den Dungen has more than 35 years of motorsport experience, and has been a member of CAMS delegations which have assisted in seeing F1 and V8 Supercar events in Asia and the Middle East come to fruition.

"I have been involved in motorsport in its many forms for many years and my passion for racing is as strong as ever," said van den Dungen. "This is just another facet to the sport and I'm really very excited to be taking on responsibility for the Australian Superbike Championship event management for 2009 and beyond."

Following the cessation of a five-year agreement between Motorcycling Australia and Formula Xtreme Promotions, the Frontline Media Group was recently awarded promotions rights for the ASC in 2009 and beyond.
