Australian motorcycle tech company Forcite is looking to raise a total of $6 million to assist with development of its state-of-the-art smart helmets and future technologies.
The Sydney-based brand is on target to achieve its goal with $4.8 million already rasied thanks to a Series A funding round led by Uniseed through new and existing shareholders.
To complement the Series A fuding, Forcite has opened an equity crowdfunding campaign through Equitise, allowing followers and early adopters an opportunity to invest. The crowdfunding campaign has so far raised $900,000 with one week left to run.

Aussie helmet with real-time updates
Forcite was founded in 2013 by Alfred Boyadgis after a motorcycle accident. Aiming to provide a safer, smarter, and more dynamic riding experience, the company released the Forcite MK1 smart helmet. Featuring things like cameras, speakers, GPS, and hazard warnings, the MK1 helmet has been popular, with every release selling out rapidly.
There are currently 1380-odd motorcyclists currently wearing Forcite helmets on the road, with a further 14,000 people having registered their interest across Australia, the US, and Europe. The Forcite MK1 retails at $1299.

Looking forward, Forcite is gearing up to release its new MK1S lid, which will feature a number of upgrades and improvements based on user feedback. The company is also apparently working with major motorcycle manufacturers to implement smart technologies in future bikes.
Part of Forcite’s success can be attributed to its community approach, which includes crowdsourced design improvements on products and software and sponsoring of grassroots motorcycle events. The company currently employs 18 full-time staff with 60% being motorcycle riders.
“Forcite’s success is down to the involvement of the motorcycle community who have been with us every step of the way, providing invaluable feedback during product development,” said Boyadgis. “Our equity crowdfunding is another way to foster this partnership with riders.”
