For sale: Barry Sheene's 1983 Heron Suzuki RGB500 Mk8

Has popped up on an auction site, and the seller is open to all offers — and will even organise shipping all over the world

Anything with a hint of the late Barry Sheene pulls big money these days, so this piece of grand prix history will certainly pique some interest.

Sheene's 1983 Heron Suzuki RGB500 MK8 which he used in that year's 500 GP title is now listed on an auction site for £150,000 ($A217,000).

In 1983, Sheene's best result was a seventh place in the French GP, and he ended the championship in the 14th position. Sheene's Heron Suzuki teammate Mick Grant also rode the same model (but not this bike) in 1984 to victory at the Macau GP and a second place in the North West 200.

After the bike was decommissioned, it had four owners. It's being sold with two bodywork sets, 17-inch wheels and four-piston front calipers. However, the original 16-inch wheels and two-pot calipers are included in the sale, too.

The seller is open to offers, so the price tag could go way beyond £150,000. The bike sis located in the UK, but the seller will organise shipping all over the globe.
