Fonzarelli launches electric motorbike
The company, well known for its electric scooter range, has now moved into the motorcycle sphereSydney-based company Fonzarelli has launched what it says is the first locally designed, manufactured and retail-ready emission-free motorbike – the NKD.
Available now from $9990, the pint-sized NKD has a mid-drive brushless permanent magnet motor that produces 9.6kW of power and instantaneous torque of 56Nm. It revs to 6000rpm, has a top speed of 100km/h. Fonzarelli claims acceleration of 0-100km/h in five seconds.
The NKD has a range of up to 120km (dependent on battery size selected) and is good for 6000rpm and a top speed of 100km/h.
The standard battery is rated at 1.65kWh, and there’s also a “special edition” Panasonic Lithium-Ion rated at 3.5kWh.
The NKD has on-board charger and optional portable charger, and there’s regenerate braking at both ends.
“Following a decade of sustained success with our design award-winning electric scooter range, we’re pumped to present Australia’s first retailed electric motorbike,” say Fonzarelli founder, Michelle Nazzari.
“While other prototypes have been floated, this vehicle is now available for order through Fonzarelli retailers and online.”

The NKD has many customisation options, and riders can select add-ons like a hand-stitched honeycomb saddle in Lambo-style Alcantara suede, a USB port, integrated LED headlamp, tail-lamp and bar-end turn signals, LCD dash screen, and dual sport off-road knobby Pirelli tyres.
