Former 1970s motocross star Trevor Flood has been arrested for engaging in what is a popular pastime for a lot of Australians – fossicking through hard rubbish to find their next piece of ‘treasure’.
Flood, 58, was arrested early this morning (March 22) in the outer eastern Melbourne suburb of Chirnside Park, not far from his home. He was pinched for allegedly making off with an old vacuum cleaner, out of a pile destined to become a part of the local shire’s hard waste collection.

It is not known whether the vacuum cleaner worked, or if it had a dust bag inside.
Flood won the first ever Mr Motocross title in 1974, and was also a five-time Australian motocross champion between 1972-1976.
